Adelaide Studios wins National AIA Award

21st November 2012

Grieve Gillett and Cox Richardson (architects by association) have won the National AIA Award for Commercial Architecture for the South Australian Film Corporation’s new Adelaide Studios.  The award was presented at the National AIA Awards night held at the Midland Railway Workshops in Perth earlier this month.

Psychological-thriller The Babadook, starring Essie Davis, has begun filming at Adelaide Studios in South Australia.
It marks the debut feature film from writer/director Jennifer Kent and follows a single mother who battles with her son's fear of a monster lurking in the house, only to discover a sinister presence all around her.

Adelaide Studios has received Dolby Premier Accreditation, making it one of only two studios in Australia with this prestigious certification.

Dolby Premier Accreditation is the gold standard for studios and a measure of technical excellence at every level of the Studio’s operation. Room acoustics, monitoring standards, equipment selection, installation standards, synchronization accuracy, mixing competence and technical experience are all measured and evaluated by a Dolby expert as part of the certification process.
